Color
Coding Records improves records management as
finding files becomes easier with bands of color
filling shelves. Color coding can be accomplished
in two different ways. The old way of color coding
is accomplished by purchasing individual sticky
labels to put on folders. This way of color coding
can be very costly in terms of labor time to put
together numerous folders. The new way of color
coding records includes strip label printing software
where a label is custom designed for the end user
and then when needed the end user enters the information
needed to print the label into a program and prints
out strip labels for the end tab of a folder.
This process eliminates the timely process of
applying labels individually and also gives you
the ability to place a bar code on the label for
tracking folders.
