Rotary File Design Guidelines –¬†Storage Systems That Save Space Over Traditional Filing Cabinets

Rotary Files come in legal and letter size depths and from 2 to 8 levels tall. Rotary Files are composed of shelving on a rotating base inside of a cabinet. Rotary Files can be configured to store many different applications.   They save a lot of floor space over traditional filing cabinets, and allow you to create space for additional staff or conference rooms by condensing your file system into a smaller footprint.

Inside Automated Solution Association’s Rotary File Design Center for Architect and Design Firms are the answers to many of your questions. Consulting with your local ASA Member is critical to creating a successful solution for customers. Rotary File Design Considerations

Rotary Files need to be designed with a minimum of 5-7/8″ clearance behind letter size units and 7-1/8″ for legal size units to allow the system to rotate properly. Rotary Files are available in starter and adder configurations with dimensions listed in the chart below. All Rotary Files offer a lock as standard and have optional additional locks available for advanced security requirements.

Rotary Files are commonly used in medical practices for secure file storage solutions or for technical binder storage applications.
